Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi could get more carries in 2017

In his second season in the league, Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi had a breakthrough season in 2016. Ajayi rushed for 1,272 yards and eight touchdowns and he only started 12 games last season. This offseason, Dolphins head coach Adam Gase has talked about getting Ajayi to around 350 carries in 2017. When talking to the media this week, Ajayi seemed to be thrilled with the idea of an increasing workload. “I’m ready for it,” Ajayi said. “I prepare myself every season to take a huge workload and be able to carry the team, and I think I’m ready for that. If that’s what he wants to do then that’s what we’ll do; but every time I step out on that field, it’s to put my all out there on the line.

Why I'm a Patriots Fan: Dramatic Beginnings of a 32-year "Marriage"

My Patriots fandom has a more complicated, twisted lineage than those for other sports. I'm a straight "Boston Guy" in my fandom (Providence College, my alma mater, excepted), but with the NFL, it wasn't always that way. I started following sports in the late 70s. He explained the basics of the game to me, but also pointed out that, as pro football teams go, the Dallas Cowboys were THE BEST and definitely the team to root for. So, I was hooked. The first NFL game I ever watched by myself, end-to-end, was the Cowboys' playoff loss to

LeSean McCoy is pumped for a 'special' opportunity in Bills passing game

Ever since the acquisition of running back LeSean McCoy in a trade for linebacker Kiko Alonso, the 28-year-old has been running wild for the Buffalo Bills offense. Despite being used in a running back by committee, being paired in each of his first two years in Buffalo with Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee, McCoy still managed to prove  age is nothing but a number. He’s continuing to rack up high yardage totals, especially last season when he gained 1,267 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Although McCoy has seen fantastic success running the ball, the lack of a passing game has hindered not only McCoy but Buffalo’s offense as a whole. Through two years in Western New York, McCoy has accumulated
