2 men get probation after assaulting Ravens fan at M&T Bank Stadium in 2016

New York natives Scott Smith and Andrew Nappi, who were charged after assaulting 55 year old Joseph Bauer at M&T Bank Stadium, were given probation according to Michael Brice-Saddler of The Baltimore Sun. The altercation took place during the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 4 matchup against the Oakland Raiders in 2016 and left Bauer with a critical brain injury. As a result both men, who are Raiders fans, will not face jail time and will each serve an 18-month probation. Smith, who is 30 years old and Nappi who is 32 years old, accepted an Alford plea deal in Baltimore City Circuit Court Friday on one count of misdemeanor and second degree assault. The Alford plea allows the defendants to maintain innocence
