Earlier this week the NFL and the NFLPA put the final touches on their amended collective bargaining agreement for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One item they were discussing was the deadline for players to decide if they wanted to sit out this year with their contract being tolled to 2021. That deadline was set for today at 3:00 pm Central, which means players must provide their teams written notification if they wish to opt out before that time.

Maryland football has secured a commitment from 2021 offensive lineman Kyle Long, he announced Wednesday evening. Long, who plays at Hazelwood Central in Florissant, Missouri, is ranked as a composite two-star recruit, but listed as an 80-rated three-star by 247 Sports. Prior to his commitment, Long had been committed to Central Michigan since May, but the Terps came in with an official written offer on Aug. 1 and wrapped up his pledge quickly.
