Cardinals, DE Berry agree to deal

TEMPE, ARIZONA (TICKER) —The Arizona Cardinals retained one of the top contributors from their defensive line, agreeing to terms with veteran end Bertrand Berry on a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Berry led the club with five sacks last season, though that was a far cry from his prime, when he posted 25.5 between the 2003 and 2004 seasons. He has spent the last five campaigns with the Cardinals after three years in Indianapolis and three with Denver.

A third-round pick of the Colts out of Notre Dame in 1997, Berry has registered 59 sacks in 145 career games.
