Shutdown Corner - NFL

The New York Jets are bold and brash and are led by a coach who curses slightly more than a character in a Scorcese movie. Say this about them, though: The team's players do show proper deference to authority figures. Either that, or they're into subtle forms of bribery.

This clip from Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars shows quarterback Mark Sanchez(notes) retrieving the hat of a linesman and linebacker Bart Scott(notes) offering Gatorade to another official.

One gets an Eddie Haskell vibe from Mr. Scott, no? If NFL Films doesn't have him mic'd up for every game, that's a major missed opportunity. I could listen to that guy read the NFL rulebook and still find it funny.
