Hurts vs. Murray presents intriguing over/under bets in Eagles-Cardinals originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
The last two Oklahoma quarterbacks go toe to toe in the Arizona desert in which PointsBet, the NBC Sports Philadelphia betting partner, expects it to be full of offense with an over/under listed at 49.5.
Meanwhile, the Eagles (4-8-1 straight up, 5-8 against the spread) are 6.5-point underdogs at the Cardinals (7-6 SU, 6-7 ATS). Hitting the road has not gone well for the Birds this season, posting a 1-5 mark ATS. Fortunately, the Cardinals have not defended their home barn, going just 2-4 ATS at State Farm Stadium.
Both defenses will have to be on their toes facing Hurts and Murray as the mobile quarterbacks are just as dangerous, if not even more, with their legs than their arms. Murray is second in the league among quarterbacks with 712 rushing yards (54.8 per game). Hurts was brilliant on the go in his first NFL start last week, racking up 108 yards on the ground. Murray’s over/under for rushing yards is 47.5, while Hurts’ number is a bit higher at 57.5. It’s worth noting Murray has averaged only 27 yards on the ground over his last four games.
Murray’s over/under on passing yards is 257.5, which is a bit higher than his average of 248.5 on the season. However, you have to take into account the Eagles' depleted secondary with Darius Slay, Rodney McLeod and Avonte Maddox all out with injuries. Hurts has an over/under of 210.5 passing yards coming off a 167-yard performance versus the Saints, who own the league’s top defense. PointsBet is offering odds of +110 ($10 bet to win $11) on both Murray and Hurts to combine for 500-plus passing yards.
The Arizona heat has been a bit too much for the Eagles to handle. According to Rotoworld, the Birds have lost their last four games SU and ATS in Phoenix, with the last win coming back in 2001. Furthermore, the Eagles are 1-6 in their last seven ATS down in the desert.
Murray has feasted on the NFC East so far in his young career. He’s 4-0 SU and ATS against the Cowboys, Giants and Washington. This is the first time he’ll square off against the Eagles. Their playoff dreams are hanging by a thread, so Week 15 would be no better time for the Birds to put an end to Murray’s streak vs. the NFC Least.
