NFL training camp 2022 tracker: Tim Patrick, a top Russell Wilson target, reportedly sustains ACL injury

Russell Wilson will be without one of his top receivers to start the season in Denver.

Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick was carted off the field on Tuesday with a right knee injury. According to ESPN's Jeff Legwold, Patrick had caught a pass and cut up field when his leg buckled and sent him to the ground.

Patrick underwent an MRI, which reportedly showed a torn ACL.

Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said seeing Patrick hurt "breaks your heart," via ESPN. "The worst part of this game is when things like this happen."

Patrick had 734 receiving yards and five touchdowns, a team-high, last season with the Broncos.

Cowboys WR James Washington to miss up to 10 weeks

James Washington was supposed to help soften the blow of the offseason departure of Amari Cooper.

Now he'll have to wait to make his Dallas Cowboys debut. The fifth-year wide receiver who joined the Cowboys from the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent sustained a foot fracture at training camp on Monday. He needs surgery and is expected to miss up to 10 weeks, according to multiple reports.

His absence will further stretch a Cowboys receiving corps that expected to start Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without Michael Gallup as he continues to recover from an ACL tear suffered in January. Meanwhile, Dallas is preparing for life after Cooper after trading the four-time Pro Bowler to the Cleveland Browns in the offseason.

It will all add up to more attention on CeeDee Lamb, the unquestioned third-year leader of the Cowboys WR corps who's coming off his first Pro Bowl season.

Despite the injury, owner Jerry Jones said he isn't worried about filling Washington's roster spot.
