Here we go with the Single Game NFL DFS slate for Sunday Night Football of Week 8. Today’s matchup is between the Vikings and Cowboys with Minnesota checking in as a 2.5 point home favorite. The over/under currently rests at 51.5 total points. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 ET.

We’ll highlight the top picks and best bargains to assemble a cash-inducing lineup. On top of that, the “additional notes” section will feature several tournament selections while adding context to the rest of this slate.

We will be producing these articles for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football matchups, so be sure to bookmark the NBC Sports EDGE DFS Page for those occasions - not to mention all the other fantastic daily fantasy content.

TOP PICKS

Dak Prescott - QB - Dallas (DK: $11,200 / FD: $16,000 / Yahoo: $35)

This is the biggest question mark of the night. Prescott is considered questionable for this contest, and he’s trending towards a true game-time decision. If Prescott is playing, then he’s undoubtedly in contention as the top overall pick of this slate. If he’s out, then Cooper Rush makes for a strong bargain as Dallas’ signal-caller. Keep an eye on the news feed as we move closer to kickoff.

Kirk Cousins - QB - Minnesota (DK: $10,800 / FD: $15,000 / Yahoo: $31)

I like both QBs in this one. Cousins has been up-and-down this season, but we have seen more of the former with 22+ fantasy points in four of six games. Playing at home against a Dallas team that has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to QBs should make for a nice spot for him to thrive. If Prescott is out, then Cousins makes a strong case for the top overall spot.

BEST BARGAINS

Tyler Conklin - TE - Minnesota (DK: $4,400 / FD: $7,000 / Yahoo: $14)

Conklin has stepped up as a legitimate target in this Minnesota offense. He has seen more than five targets in three of his last four outings, prompting 70+ yards in two of those contests. The matchup doesn’t look too bad either, as Dallas has allowed the 10th most fantasy points to TEs this season. Conklin makes for a fine bargain filler through all formats on all three DFS sites tonight.

Greg Zuerlein - K - Dallas (DK: $3,800 / FD: $9,500 / Yahoo: N/A)

I believe Zuerlein is a legitimate value on DraftKings and FanDuel regardless of Prescott’s status. However, if the Cowboys’ starting QB is out, then Zuerlein could see a few extra field goal opportunities with Dallas in a worse position to convert third downs and finish off drives with a touchdown. Keep that in the back of your mind.

TOURNAMENT LOOKS

Adam Thielen - WR - Minnesota (DK: $8,400 / FD: $11,000 / Yahoo: $27)

This isn’t a bold call by any stretch of the imagination. However, I’m more bullish on Thielen than the rest of the field tonight. The veteran WR is fresh off a sweet 11-126-1 line in his last game, so that will catch the attention of the public. I’m expecting another blowup performance on Sunday Night Football. The Cowboys rank first in DVOA to WR1’s, so that’s not great news for Jefferson. More targets, receptions, and touchdowns could funnel to Thielen because of that.

Cedrick Wilson - WR - Dallas (DK: $4,000 / FD: $7,500 / Yahoo: $10)

Wilson is a deeper sleeper to consider as a bargain. He’s borderline cash playable as well. Wilson should continue to man the WR3 spot with Michael Gallup out. He’s seeing respectable volume in that role while also seeing a few gadget plays here and there. Wilson is a touchdown-dependent fantasy asset, but I like his big-play upside for a cheap price.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Cooper Rush (QB - DAL) is definitely playable on all sites if Prescott can’t go. Amari Cooper (WR - DAL) and CeeDee Lamb (WR - DAL) are the most legitimate pass-catching options for Dallas. Lamb is coming off a massive game, but Cooper is the cheaper fantasy asset because of that. Dalton Schultz (TE - DAL) has been surging as well with five or more catches and 58+ yards in four straight.

Dalvin Cook (RB - MIN) is in an interesting spot tonight. He’s fully healthy, which is great news for prospective fantasy backers. If Prescott is out, then there’s a better chance that game flow tilts in Cook’s favor. I believe he’s a top fantasy choice if the injury news breaks that way.

Justin Jefferson (WR - MIN) and K.J. Osborn (WR - MIN) are more tournament choices in my opinion. The same can be said for Ezekiel Elliott (RB - DAL) and Tony Pollard (RB - DAL), who are splitting RB duties for the Cowboys.

Blake Jarwin (TE - DAL) and Chris Herndon (TE - MIN) are dirt-cheap tournament bargains who you hope can find the end-zone. On the other side of that coin lies a big fat goose egg. It’s literally a touchdown or bust for these guys.
