Might Antonio Brown follow in Josh Gordon's footsteps?

The Seattle Seahawks have done a "deep dive" on Brown that involved researching the free-agent wide receiver's play on the field and character off the field, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Monday.

The Seahawks feel they have "a good grasp on who (Brown) is both as a player and as a person," according to Fowler.

Fowler noted this doesn't necessarily mean Seattle will sign the former New England Patriots wide receiver. Brown still is under NFL investigation for multiple allegations of sexual assault and misconduct and could face suspension in 2020.

Yet the Seahawks apparently have interest in the 32-year-old wide receiver, who worked out with Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson earlier this offseason, according to his Instagram.

The Patriots visit the Seahawks in Week 2 of the 2020 season, so if Seattle signs Brown and he's eligible to play, he would get to face the team that released him last September after just 13 days.

Brown also would follow a similar path to Gordon, who was claimed off waivers by Seattle on Nov. 1, 2019, one day after the Patriots waived him from injured reserve.

Brown has posted multiple Instagram photos of himself in a Patriots uniform, but New England appears done with the seven-time Pro Bowler after reportedly settling a grievance involving his 2019 contract.

UPDATE (2:30 p.m. ET): Perhaps Brown won't play in 2020, after all. The wideout tweeted Monday that "the risk is greater than the reward," suggesting he may steer clear of football this year.

Brown has claimed he's "done" with the NFL before, however, slamming the league last November in an Instagram post before later apologizing and seeking a comeback.
