So far this offseason, the Raiders have searched high and low for players to reinforce what was a disappointing defensive back group a season ago.

After forcing just 5 turnovers over the entire season, coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock know they need some playmakers on the back end of Las Vegas' defense.

The team reportedly has inquired on several free-agent defensive backs, including aggressively pursuing former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones.

Despite missing out on the All-Pro defensive back, the Raiders also are interested in other high-profile free agents at the position, including former rival and Broncos ballhawk Chris Harris Jr., a source tells NBC Sports California's Scott Bair.

In addition, the Raiders have shown interest in former Cleveland Browns safety Damarious Randall, ESPN's Josina Anderson reports.

On a defense that allowed the worst net yards per attempt in the NFL last season, any improvement is crucial for Gruden and the Silver and Black to find success in year one of the Las Vegas Raiders era.
