ESPN's Field Yates reported Tuesday that Gordon has officially signed his restricted free agent tender.

Gordon was acquired by the Patriots last September in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.

He tallied 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games for the Patriots before being suspended by the NFL in December for violating the terms of his reinstatement.

It's possible Gordon is reinstated at some point in 2019, but the league has not yet made any official ruling on that.

He posted the following photo on Instagram on Monday, along with a caption that included a crystal ball. The post was "liked" by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The Patriots certainly could use Gordon next season, particularly after the offseason departures of wide receivers Cordarrelle Patterson and Chris Hogan, as well as tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Dwayne Allen. With the Patriots thin at wide receiver and Gordon's status still up in the air, it wouldn't be surprising if they selected one (or maybe two) wideouts in the 2019 NFL Draft later this week.
