Nick Folk will be the kicker for the New England Patriots in their Week 2 road game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Folk was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's Week 1 win over the Miami Dolphins. He reverted back to the practice squad Monday, but NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the veteran kicker is now on the 53-man roster and won't go back to the practice squad.
Last week, the #Patriots elevated kicker Nick Folk to the active roster before the game from the practice squad. Now, they are officially signing him to the 53-man, source said. So he won’t go back down to the PS, he’ll stay up and kick.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) September 15, 2020
Folk missed a 45-yard field goal against the Dolphins in his only attempt of the game. However, he did hit all three of his extra-point attempts.
The 35-year-old kicker converted on 14 of 17 field goal attempts in seven games with the Patriots last season.
The Patriots still have kicker Justin Rohrwasser on their practice squad. He was a fifth-round pick by the Pats in the 2020 NFL Draft.
