The injury bug is biting the 49ers early in training camp.

K'Waun Williams missed practice Monday, and NFL Media's Tom Pelissero reported, citing a source, that the cornerback suffered a Grade 1 calf strain.

As Pelissero reported, Williams will take it slow in coming days, and has a little under four weeks to get healthy before the 49ers open the season against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Sept. 13th.

The fifth-year pro is coming off a good season for the 49ers, in which he intercepted two passes, forced four fumbles, recorded one sack and made 51 total tackles.

Williams, 29, is in the final season of a three-year, $8.85 million contract with the 49ers.

The 49ers lost second-year wide receiver Jalen Hurd to a torn ACL sustained during practice on Sunday.

Luckily for coach Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers, Williams' injury isn't nearly as serious and he should be ready to go when the 2020 NFL season kicks off.
