NFL Network reporter Kim Jones is leaving a Northern Virginia hospital on Wednesday after a nearly two-week stay.

Well-known by New York City sports fans after previously covering the New York Giants for the Newark Star-Ledger and New York Yankees for the YES Network, Jones is also currently a show host on WFAN.

She hasn’t shared a lot of details yet, but it sounds like Jones went through a scary ordeal. In a Thanksgiving video on Instagram, she said, “A week ago today, I almost died. Great doctors saved my life — but that’s for another day. I just wanted to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving; it is a great day to be alive.”

She also poked fun at her hospital gown, a far cry from the colorful dresses and tops viewers usually see her wearing.

On Wednesday, she posted a second video, this time saying she was getting to go home.

In it, she says she’s been at the Inova Fairfax Hospital, in its heart and vascular unit.

“Today’s a big day,” Jones said. “The surgeons saved my life, against big odds. The nurses have been great, the techs have been great — everyone in this hospital has helped put me back together.”

Jones went on to thank NFL Network for the support, and that she’s looking forward to being back on camera.

Several members of the Yahoo Sports NFL team have shared press boxes with Jones, and she’s always been friendly and warm in addition to being professional. We are wishing her the very best in her recovery.
