NFL free agency live: Latest rumors, news, official contracts as new league year begins

The new NFL league year has begun and free agency is officially underway.

The legal tampering period is over, which means contracts agreed to over the last few days can start to become official Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.

The most anticipated announcement is former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A report Tuesday said Brady is expected to land with the Bucs. Brady has spent the first 20 years of his pro career with the Patriots, with whom he's won six Super Bowl championships.  Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the contract language was still being finalized Wednesday night. 

A few other Patriots players, including linebacker Kyle Van Noy (Miami Dolphins), defensive lineman Danny Shelton (Detroit Lions) and linebacker Jamie Collins (Detroit Lions) reportedly have contract agreements that can become official Wednesday.

7:43 p.m.: Patriots officially announce they've traded safety Duron Harmon.

6:40 p.m.: Seahawks bolstering their offensive line.

The Vikings are close to adding to their defensive line.

More Seahawks news: Safety Tedric Thompson has been given permission to seek a trade.

6:13 p.m: The Dallas Cowboys added some depth to their secondary by signing cornerback Anthony Brown to a three-year deal.

5:55 p.m.: The New England Patriots have upgraded the depth of their defensive line by agreeing to terms with Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Beau Allen.

The best free agent still available might be veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who finished last season with the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaking of the Seahawks, they are bringing back Bruce Irvin.

5:05 p.m.: News keeps trickling in with the 2020 league year now an hour old.

4:30 p.m.: Another Patriots player reportedly is heading to the Dolphins. This time it's linebacker Elandon Roberts.
