NFL Draft news: Colts place QB Carson Wentz on the Reserve/COVID-19 list

Carson Wentz reached his snap count threshold in Week 15 for the Eagles and in the win over the Cardinals, Indianapolis’ star quarterback logged 70 more snaps to stay within the threshold.

Things could get interesting in Week 17 after Wentz was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. As an unvaccinated player, Wentz will be out 10-days minimum.

With Carson Wentz out Sunday, The Colts playoff hopes now figure to rest with backup quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Indianapolis currently sits in the 6th seed of the AFC playoff picture with a 9-6 record.

The Colts will face the Raiders (8-7) on Sunday afternoon and will finish the season against the Jaguars in Week 18.
