Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa did not have the rookie season everyone was hoping for. Less than a year removed from a devastating hip injury, no offseason to prepare with his team and no preseason to build chemistry. Everything seemed to go against the in year No. 1.

Along with his mediocre rookie year came the social media talk and analysts claiming he’s not the same star quarterback he was while at Alabama.

One of the most outspoken members of the media on the matter was Chris Simms, NFL analyst at NBC Sports.

Only two months ago, Simms listed Tagovailoa as the No. 34 best quarterback in the league. This means that not only is he one of the worst starter in the NFL, according to Simms, but that there are numerous backups that are able to play at a higher level.

Well, now that the 2021 preseason is coming to an end and the regular season is right around the corner, opinions are starting to change, with Simms making one of the biggest flips.

In a recent episode of his podcast, Simms had nothing but incredibly high praise for Tagovailoa as he heads into his second season.

He even goes as far as claiming he’s a quarterback worthy of taking a team to the Super Bowl.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Tua Tagovailoa as he enters into what many are hoping will be a breakout season.
