Patrick Mahomes wasn't 100% as he played through an ankle sprain in Sunday's AFC championship game.

But even a limited version of the star Kansas City Chiefs quarterback made enough plays for the Chiefs to eke out a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Harrison Butker's field goal in the closing seconds.

Mahomes completed 29 of 43 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns.

And on top of his plays in the passing game, he set up the game-winning kick with a first-down run down the sideline after which he drew a late hit flag on the Bengals for shoving him out of bounds.

That 15-yard penalty put Kansas City in field goal range, setting up Butker's 45-yard winner.

The Chiefs are headed to the Super Bowl for the third time in four years. They'll face the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona.
