Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo lost his eighth game Tuesday against the Cubs.
Gallardo gave up seven runs, five earned, on eight hits over five innings. He struck out four and walked two during the outing. Gallardo got himself in trouble early. After notching the first out of the first inning, Gallardo loaded the bases against the next three hitters he faced. Two straight singles brought two runs home. A throwing error brought in the third run of the inning, and force out pulled another run home. Gallardo left the first inning down by four runs.
Gallardo settled in, tossing three scoreless innings. He fell into trouble again in the fifth. With a man on, Gallardo gave up a run-scoring double. The next hitter belted a two-run homer.
With the loss, Gallardo dropped to 8-8. He'll take on the Marlins in his next start.
