One semester on the West Virginia campus was enough for true freshman quarterback Chavas Rawlins, a three-star recruit who informed the school he plans to transfer.
Rawlins enrolled at WVU in January and his recruitment was led by quarterbacks coach Jack Spavital. Spavital was hired by Texas A&M as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Rawlins, 6-3, 195, was 15-6 in two seasons as starting quarterback at Monessen (Pa.) High School and an all-state selection in 2012. He received several scholarship offers, including Illinois, Nebraska, North Carolina, Pitt, Northwestern, Tennessee and Virginia.
