World Series of Fighting on Tuesday announced that they have inked a new Spanish language television deal with Univision Deportes.

“The World Series of Fighting has signed yet another TV agreement. This is Spanish language Univision Deportes, Univision’s new sports network. It will be the first time they’ve had MMA (mixed martial arts) on, and it starts with the telecast this Saturday,” said WSoF spokesman Jim Hunter.

Univision Deportes Network is a Spanish language American sports channel based out of Miami. It is owned by Univision Communications and dedicated to sporting events and sports-related programming. It is available on DirecTV and Dish Network, as well as AT&T U-verse.

“We at WSoF are excited about blazing new grounds and expanding our event coverage throughout the country. This is a real feather in the cap of not only MMA, but World Series of Fighting as well,” said Hunter.

The deal is still being worked out and more details are expected in the coming days.

“It is a multi-fight agreement. It is launching with this card on Saturday,” said Hunter. “The final details, exactly how many fights it will be, obviously it will be more than one, is still being worked out.”

World Series of Fighting 2: Arlovski vs. Johnson takes place this Saturday at Ovation Hall at Revel in Atlantic City, N.J. It is headlined by former UFC heavyweight titleholder Andrei Arlovsi vs. Anthony Johnson. The main card will air live on NBC Sports and Univision Deportes.
