Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn are officially dating.
Woods and Vonn released simultaneous statements Monday, along with a picture of themselves together.
"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy," Vonn, 28, posted on her Facebook page.
"I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends."
Woods, 37, posted on his official website: "Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating."
"We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."
Rumors of a burgeoning romance began to swirl in February after Woods sent his private jet to fly Vonn home to Vail, Colo. after the skier suffered a major knee injury in fractured shin during a crash at the Alpine World Championships in Austria.
Vonn has been recuperating in Vail, but also spent time recently aboard Woods' yacht in Florida, where the world's No. 2-ranked golf resides.
Both athletes have gone through high-profile divorces in recent years. Woods was the focal point of a scandal that involved reported sexual relationships with dozens of women that led to the split from his former wife, Elin Nordegren. The couple was officially divorced in 2010. Vonn and husband Thomas Vonn, officially split in 2011 after four years of marriage.
