William & Mary trumps Howard in overtime 84-79

WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) -- Omar Prewitt scored 24 points, including going 12 of 13 at the line, to lead five players in double figures as William & Mary dropped Howard in overtime, 84-79.

The Tribe (4-3) won their third game in a row, shooting 52 percent from the floor, including 11 of 24 (45.8 percent) from beyond the arc. Kyle Gaillard (16 points), Marcus Thornton (14 points) and Julian Boatner (13) all hit on three 3-pointers. Tim Rusthoven chipped in with 15 points.

Howard (2-7) was led by Prince Okoroh, who hit a career-high 40 points on 15 of 19 shooting. Okoroh entered the game averaging 11.3 points per game. The Bison received 22 points from James Daniel, but no other player had more than six.

William & Mary held a 1-point halftime lead, and both teams opened it up in the second half. The Tribe outscored Howard 13-8 in the extra session.
