Western Kentucky squeaks by Samford 67-64

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- T.J. Price scored 28 points and pulled down 6 rebounds as Western Kentucky squeaked by Samford 67-64 Saturday night.

George Fant contributed 17 points.

Samford (1-5) had eased to a 51-43 advantage at the 8:08 mark when Western Kentucky (3-1) went on a 9-1 run to tie the score at 52 on a Fant layup. Brandon Price hit a 3-point jumper then a layup to give the Hilltoppers a 57-54 lead at 3:41. Caden Dickerson hit a 3-pointer, his only points of the night, to give the Hilltoppers at 60-57 lead at the 2:54 mark. Samford could not regain the advantage as the Hilltoppers made 5 of 6 free throws to guard their lead.

Western Kentucky was 15 of 20 from the free throw line while Samford was only 5-for-9

Isaiah Williams led Samford, contributing 15 points, hitting 5 of 6 3-pointers. Tim Williams had 11 points and 8 rebounds.
