Wells' transfer options down to three

Forward Dez Wells has weighed his transfer options and likely will make a decision in the next 48 hours.

The former Xavier player has pared his list to Oregon, Memphis and Maryland, The Washington Post reported.

Wells visited Oregon on Sunday and took in a Maryland football game on Saturday. The Post said he was returning to his home in Raleigh, N.C., on Monday to discuss his choice with family members.

He left Xavier this spring after his expulsion, which stemmed from sexual assault allegations. A grand jury didn't pursue the case and a judge said last week that the university's judicial process was "seriously flawed."

Wells started every game as a freshman at Xavier last season and averaged 5.3 points for a team that reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament.

Sources indicated that Wells would be eligible to play this season.

He also considered Kentucky and Ohio State.
