Kicker Mitchell Wasson is no longer with the team, head coach Kirby Smart said after practice on Thursday.
“Mitchell is not with us anymore,” Smart said of Wasson, who came to Georgia last year as a preferred walk-on but never got into a game.
A graduate of Lassiter High School, Wasson was expected to compete with Rodrigo Blankenship but suffered a leg injury back in fall camp and never completely recovered until late in the year.
Wasson becomes the second Bulldog kicker to leave the program in the past months, following William Ham, who left shortly after the end of the season.
Wasson was not expected to play this year, either, as along with Blankenship, the Bulldogs will bring in former Wofford kicker David Marvin, who will report to Georgia after he graduates this semester.
The Bulldogs will also bring in former Greater Atlanta Christian kicker Brooks Buce as a preferred walk-on this fall.
Martin was 17 of 23 on field goal attempts made last year with around a 50 percent touchback rating. Wofford's 41+ yards net average on punts led the FCS while Marvin's net average was 46.1 yards per punt.
Blankenship, meanwhile, was perfect on all 26 of his extra-point attempts last year and converted 14 of 18 field goal attempts and had 20 touchbacks in 55 of his kickoff attempts.
