Alfred Morris established the ground game, but it wasn't enough to avoid a big loss for the Redskins against the Broncos, 45-21, in Denver.
Robert Griffin III was troubled by turnovers, finishing 15 for 30 with 132 yards passing, one touchdown, two picks and one fumble. Peyton Manning was more productive for the Broncos, and finished 30 for 44 with 354 yards passing, four touchdowns, three picks and one fumble.
Morris was a standout player for the Redskins, rushing for 93 yards on 17 attempts while adding a touchdown. Jordan Reed was a top performer, snagging eight balls for 90 yards.
The Washington defense failed, giving up 339 yards passing and 107 rushing while returning one interception for a touchdown. They sacked Manning two times.
Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno had a big game, putting up 89 receiving yards, 44 rushing and one touchdown. Wide receiver Wes Welker also had a good game with 81 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Redskins are at home to take on the Chargers (4-3) next week while the Broncos travel to San Diego to meet the Chargers (4-3).
