Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is having a big week in Beijing.
On Wednesday, he is scheduled to hold a press conference there to announce his new shoe deal with Chinese firm Li-Ning.
On Thursday, he hopes to make his preseason debut when the Heat play the Los Angeles Clippers in the Chinese capital.
Wade had arthroscopic left knee surgery in July.
"If I continue to respond the way it is, and my trainers and doctors give me a go-ahead to play, I would love to get out there and at least play at least some minutes (Thursday), try to get my conditioning," Wade told reporters in Beijing.
According to the Miami Herald, Wade wore his Li-Ning sneakers in practice Tuesday for the first time. Wade's previous shoe deal with Jordan Brand recently expired after three years. Before that, he had been a Converse client.
