UPDATE: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is set to make his Major League debut Friday April 26.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., baseball's top prospect, has picked up right where he left off. He’s opened his season going 7-for-17 at Triple-A with two homers, 14 total bases, three walks, and zero Ks.

On Wednesday, Vlad obliterated this ball ...

Our needlessly long wait to see Vlad's major league debut should end shortly, as he’s expected to be called up soon — perhaps for Tuesday's home series with the Giants. (Or maybe not.)

In any case, we know he won't be stuck in Buffalo for long. He's as close to a no-doubt prospect as there is, having slashed an absurd .381/.437/.636 last year. Vlad possesses exceptional power and contact ability; he K'd just 38 times last season in 408 plate appearances.

Vlad is obviously long-gone in any standard fantasy league with more than, say, four teams. But if you happen to play in a format in which prospects can't be rostered before they debut, prepare to make the season's most meaningful add. Guerrero just turned 20 last month, but his bat has been MLB-ready for over a year. He's all sorts of fun.

This is the graf in which I'd normally remind you that prospects never have as much fantasy trade value as they do in the days/hours before they arrive, but I think we should probably ignore that advice where Vlad is concerned. He's never done anything but rake. Vald's imminent arrival is pure fun. He projects as a dominant heart-of-the-order hitter for Toronto, immediately.

You want him. Prepare to activate.
