Virginia Tech running back Michael Holmes faces felony malicious wounding and assault and battery charges stemming from an early Sunday morning bar fight that led to his arrest.
WDBJ-TV in Virginia reported Monday that Holmes is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
The station reported that one person was taken to the hospital, and two other people were treated for injuries at the scene.
Virginia Tech announced in a statement that Holmes has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
Holmes, a redshirt sophomore, was contending for a starting job this season. He rushed 70 times for 280 yards as a freshman last season, when he led all Virginia Tech running backs with four rushing touchdowns.
