RICHMOND, Va. -- Six players reached double figures, led by Briante Weber with 16 points, and Virginia Commonwealth rolled past Winthrop, 92-71, at the Siegel Center on Saturday night.
Treveon Graham had 13 points, while Juvonte Reddic, JeQuan Lewis and Rob Brandenberg each scored 11, and Alie-Cox chipped in with 10 for the Fams.
It marks the third-straight year that Virginia Commonwealth has started its season 3-0. Winthrop, which fell to 2-1, was led by Andre Smith's 14 points.
Virginia Commonwealth, which forced Winthrop into 25 turnovers, took a 45-41 lead into halftime.
Reddic led the Rams with 10 points at the half on perfect shooting, making 3-of-3 from the floor and both of his free throws.
There were four lead changed within the first four minutes of the game before Reddic's 3-pointer made it 13-11 with 16:42 left in the half, and the Rams never trailed again.
Two free throws by Briante Weber provided the Rams with their largest lead of the half, 32-24.
Winthrop's last lead was 11-10 on a 3-pointer by Joab Jerome with 16:53 left in the half.
