Last season, Eli Hanback was a redshirt freshman seeing his first action on the defensive line a new scheme and with a new coaching staff. Now, 30 pounds heavier and with a much deeper feel for things, he's hoping to build on a 2016 campaign where he started 11 of 12 games and finished with 36 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery for a TD.
In this video interview, Hanback talks about his experience last year, how it helps him to notice tendencies in the offense now, how being bigger and stronger makes him a better defender particularly against the run, how the lack of depth on the defensive line pushes the guys to be in "top-line conditioning," and much more.
