Vernon Davis: Finds Endzone in Win Staff

Update: Davis caught five passes for 106 yards and a touchdown during the 49ers' win in the NFC Championship game on Sunday.

Recommendation: After virtually a season-long struggle to be an integral part of the passing attack, Davis posted one of his best games of the year at one of the most important times. Though we saw flashes of this during the first couple of weeks of the season, Davis was, for the most part, reduced to primarily a run-blocking tight end. But with the Falcons soft coverage, he was able to make a huge difference this week. What was actually most impressive was just how much yardage he picked up after the catch as he refused to go down quietly whenever the Falcons tried to tackle him. Though it's tough to imagine not utilizing him in the same fashion during the Super Bowl, there's still a chance that he simply goes back to just his blocking responsibilities.
