BANGOR, Maine (AP) -- Twelve players scored and Vermont shot 58 percent from the field as the Catamounts cruised to an 83-46 win over Maine Thursday night.
Vermont (9-8, 3-0 America East) jumped out to 21-5 lead and made 13 of its first 18 field goal attempts while pushing its lead to 31-9 with 8:18 left in the first half.
The Catamounts took a 37-20 lead into the break and led by as many as 39 late in the game. They dominated the interior, out-rebounding Maine (3-13, 1-3) 38-20 en route to 15 second-chance points and a 38-14 advantage in points in the paint.
Ethan O'Day paced Vermont by scoring a season-high 12 points. Harold Hector and Kurt Steidl added 10 apiece. No Vermont starter played more than 23 minutes in the game.
Maine shot 16 of 45 (35.6 percent) from the field and 3 of 15 (20 percent) from 3-point range.
