United's Johnson, Whitecaps' Tornaghi fined by MLS

NEW YORK (AP) -- D.C. United forward Eddie Johnson was fined by MLS an undisclosed amount for hands to the face and head of FC Dallas defender Zach Loyd.

The infraction occurred in the 28th minute United's 4-1 win on Saturday night. Loyd was later ejected for a slide tackle on United's Davy Arnaud in the 39th minute.

The league also suspended Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper Paolo Tornaghi one game on Friday and fined him an undisclosed amount for running onto the field after Sebastian Fernandez's 35-yard shot in the 94th minute tied the game at 2 against Real Salt Lake on Saturday night.
