UNCW board strength beats D-II Wingate, 80-61

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- Shane Reybold pulled down a career high 19 rebounds to help push North Carolina-Wilmington to an 80-61 win over Division-II Wingate in its home opener Saturday night.

Reybold helped the Seahawks (2-2) take a 55-35 advantage on the boards, pulling down 14 of his rebounds on the defensive end.

Cedrick Williams had 13 points to lead a balanced offense that saw 11 of the 12 players who saw action score. Freddie Jackson had 10 points off the UNCW bench.

Deion Turman had 13 points and got 12 from Xavier Griffin and 10 from Isiah Cureton to lead the Bulldogs, who struggled from the floor, shooting 28 percent for the game.

Reybold converted a three-point play to help key the Seahawks' finish to the first half, helping them take a 14-point lead at intermission, 44-30.
