UFC on Fox 7 Medical Suspensions: Daniel Cormier Among Those Facing Six-Month Suspension

The UFC on Fox 7: Henderson vs. Melendezmedical suspensions were released to MMAWeekly.com on Monday by the California State Athletic Commission.
Five of the card’s 24 fighters – including co-main event winner Daniel Cormier – face the possibility of six months on the sidelines. Every fighter on the card received at least a standard seven-day minimum rest period.
UFC on Fox 7 took place Saturday, April 20, at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
UFC on Fox 7 Medical Suspensions:
Daniel Cormier: Suspended 180 days with no contact for 180 days unless cleared by a physician for swollen right middle finger.
Nate Diaz: Suspended for 60 days unless cleared by a physician for facial lacerations (nose/cheeks). He faces a minimum 45-day suspension with no contact for 30 days due to a TKO loss.
Matt Brown: Suspended for 60 days unless cleared by a physician for laceration to his right eyebrow.
Jordan Mein: Suspended for 180 days with no contact for 180 days unless cleared by a physician for possible left jaw fracture and possible right orbital fracture. He was also suspended for 60 days with no contact for 60 days due to a laceration to the nose, on top of a 45-day suspension with no contact for 30 days due to a TKO loss.
Chad Mendes: Suspended for 180 days with no contact for 180 days unless cleared by a physician for possible right index finger fracture.
Darren Elkins: Suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days due to a TKO loss.
Myles Jury: Suspended for 60 days with no contact for 60 days due to right eyebrow laceration.
Ramsey Nijem: Suspended 180 days with no contact for 180 days unless cleared by a physician after being sent to the hospital for head trauma. He faces a minimum 45-day suspension with no contact for 30 days due to a knockout loss.
Joseph Benavidez: Suspended for 60 days with no contact for 60 days unless cleared by a physician due to a broken tooth and laceration to the right eyebrow unless cleared by a physician.
Darren Uyenoyama: Suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days due to TKO loss.
Jorge Masvidal: Suspended for 180 days with no contact for 180 days unless cleared by a physician for possible right thumb fracture. He also faces a 60-day suspension with no contact for 60 days unless cleared by a physician for two top-of-scalp lacerations.
Hugo Viana: Suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days due to TKO loss.
Roger Bowling: Suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days due to knockout loss. He must also have a neurological check-up.
Clifford Starks: Suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days due to knockout loss.
