UFC Fight Night 26 Weigh-in Results: Shogun Rua and Chael Sonnen Spot On

MMA Weekly

Prior to Saturday's UFC Fight Night 26: Shogun vs. Sonnen event at the TD Garden in Boston, the 26 fighters participating on the fight card weighed in on Friday.

Former light heavyweight titleholder Mauricio “Shogun” Rua takes on Chael Sonnen in the main event, while heavyweight contenders Alistair Overeem and Travis Browne collide in the co-main event.

There hasn’t been the typical trash talk and banter that we’ve come to expect out of Chael Sonnen leading up to this fight at the TD Garden in Boston. He’s shown brash confidence in himself, but has also shown a large amount of respect for Shogun.

This is an important fight to get both men on track and they know. Each man hit the mark at exactly 205 pounds on Friday, showing they are ready for the battle to come on Saturday.

As heavyweights, there wasn’t much of an issue in Overeem and Browne making weight, either. Overeem tipped the scale at 255.5 pounds, while Browne was 236 pounds.

In fact, everyone on the fight card made weight with only Matt Brown needing to disrobe and utilize the infamous UFC weigh-in towel and a second attempt to make his fight official.
