NYON, Switzerland (AP) -- UEFA has fined Ukrainian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk 50,000 euros ($66,500) for the hooligan behavior of its fans during a Champions League qualifying match against FC Copenhagen.
UEFA says Dnipro will play a home Champions League or Europa League match in an empty stadium if crowd trouble is repeated within two years.
The deferred sanction clears Dnipro to have fans when it hosts Hajduk Split in the Europa League.
Dnipro is playing in Kiev because UEFA judged Dnipropetrovsk in eastern Ukraine to be unsafe to host matches.
Copenhagen fans were attacked by Dnipro fans during a match on July 30. The second half kickoff was delayed by 15 minutes.
The Danish club denied claims that its fans provoked trouble by displaying a Russian flag.
