On Monday, Texas Tech and the Lubbock community suffered a terrible loss. Long-time Red Raiders head football coach Spike Dykes passed away due to a heart attack. Throughout the week, Tech athletics and others have been honoring the Red Raider legend on social media.

Even current and former coaches of Tech's biggest rivals offered their condolences.

Patrick Mahomes' day at ESPN, Gruden's QB Camp

Former Red Raider quarterback Patrick Mahomes spent his Tuesday at the ESPN studios. The NFL prospect appeared on Sportscenter and Mike & Mike in the Morning. He even showed off his arm strength in impressive ways.

Red Raider fans were glued to their TV sets on Wednesday night as Gruden's QB Camp with Patrick Mahomes premiered on ESPN2. The former NFL coach sat down with him to watch film from past Tech games and participate in on-the-field drills. There were a few funny moments, including Mahomes being pelted with pool noodles.

Texas Tech basketball lands two big prospects.

Chris Beard has been working hard on recruiting since the season ended and it's paying off. On Wednesday and Thursday, two talented recruits signed their national letters of intent to play for the Red Raiders-forward Daniel Mading and guard Zhaire Smith. Tech athletics welcomed both prospects to the Red Raider family.
