Trainer Jacobson ties NY single-season mark

NEW YORK (AP) -- David Jacobson matched the New York record for training victories in a year, sending out three winners Thursday at Aqueduct.

Jacobson has 159 wins for the season at Aqueduct, Belmont Park and Saratoga - tying the mark set by Gary Contessa in 2007. There are four racing days left for Jacobson to break the deadlock.

Moments Notiz, one of the Jacobson trio, took the $72,200 allowance feature with Chuckie Lopez aboard. The 5-year-old gelding posted his 11th win in 22 starts, beating even-money favorite Saturday's Charm by 1 1/4 lengths in the four-horse field.

The time was 1:10.91 for the six furlongs on the fast track.

Moments Notiz paid $4.30 and $2.20. Saturday's Charm returned $2.10.

Jake N Elwood was third. There was no show wagering.
