Well, so far Monday Night Football has been entertaining. If not a bit odd.

We know the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots do not care for each other, and tensions were high early in a defensive stalemate. In fact, the first points of the game were on a Patriots safety on the fourth series of the game.

But the real highlight — if that’s what you want to call it — was a frustrated Tom Brady absolutely lighting up Julian Edelman after a missed connection.

Brady has escaped the Ravens’ rush and extended the play, but it appears that Edelman stopped running. Brady then went to the sideline and started launching stuff with white-hot anger. It was quality viewing.

The two could be seen talking on the sideline, with Brady animatedly explaining to Edelman what he wanted. On the following series, Brady drilled a 28-yard pass to Edelman for a big first down. That’s motivation manifesting itself.

This game has a playoff-like atmosphere, and Brady let his emotions loose very early in a big game. It might be working, too.
