Titans' Walker should start cutting next week

Delanie Walker, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee before training camp, says he should start running and making cuts on the knee next week.

Walker's goal is to get back on the practice field by the following week (Week of Aug. 12) with his sights on playing when the Titans host the Atlanta Falcons on Aug. 24 in the third week of preseason at the earliest.

"We're going to start cutting next week," Walker said. "If the cutting goes well, after that I'll probably be on the field doing some activities.

"I know once I get back, I'll have to probably practice for a couple of weeks before they put me in, so probably the third or fourth preseason game,."

The Titans would probably prefer week three since that is the usual "dress rehearsal" week of preseason with the final preseason game being mostly backups and players on the roster bubble logging most of the time.
