Today's Throwback Thursday throws us all the way back to the 2005 season as the Red Raiders visited Lincoln to take on Nebraska.

Tech jumped out to an early 21-0 lead in the second quarter, but Nebraska made a huge comeback to take the 31-27 lead in the fourth.

Ultimately, Cody Hodges threw a touchdown pass to Joel Filani with 12 seconds left in the contest, and the Red Raiders knocked off Nebraska on their homecoming 34-31. However, that doesn't tell the whole story.

While driving in the red zone with just 1:11 left in the contest, Hodges threw a goal line interception to Cornhuskers nose tackle LeKevin Smith, which should've sealed the deal. However, instead of going down to secure the possession for Nebraska, Smith decided to run it back. During his trot, the defensive lineman fumbled the ball, and Danny Amendola recovered it to secure another attempt to win for the Red Raiders at the 18 yard line.

Then, with just 12 seconds left, Hodges found Filani for a 10 yard touchdown on 4th down to give Tech the 34-31 lead.

The Red Raiders won their first road game of the year, and eventually would go onto to finish the year 9-2. The Red Raiders would go on to play in the Cotton Bowl later that year, against Alabama.
