EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Lakers were in a world of hurt Monday after three of their four big men suffered injuries in Sunday night's game against the Denver Nuggets.
Center Dwight Howard, forward/center Pau Gasol and center Jordan Hill all were examined by team doctors on Monday.
Howard re-injured the same shoulder (right) that he originally hurt on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers. An examination and MRI showed that Howard has a torn labrum and will be out indefinitely. However, Howard will travel with the team to upcoming games to Houston and San Antonio and will receive treatment from team trainers. He will be re-examined in a week.
Gasol, who sustained a blow to the face in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's game, suffered a concussion and is out indefinitely. He also will not travel with the team.
Hill suffered an injury to his right hip. Results of an examination Monday were pending.
