Thomas Almeida Earns Bonus with Hometown Win (UFC Sao Paulo Fighter Bonuses)

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the fighter bonuses stemming from Saturday's UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo following the event in Brazil. Thomas Almeida, Cezar Ferreira, Gadzhimurad Antigulov, and Pedro Munhoz were awarded the $50,000 performance-based incentives.

There were four “Performance of the Night” bonuses awarded with no Fight of the Night from the 12-fight card that featured four decisions, four submission wins, and four TKO finishes.

Main event fighter Thomas Almeida earned a bonus for his second-round finish of Albert Morales. The opening round saw spirited exchanges, but Almeida's precision striking was too much for Morales. The end came early in the second frame when Almeida landed a series of strikes that had Morales out on his feet.

The remaining three bonuses went to preliminary card fighters. Cezar Ferreira banked some extra bucks for his second-round submission win over Jack Hermansson in their middleweight bout that headlined the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1.

Promotional newcomer Gadzhimurad Antigulov was awarded a bonus for his first-round submission win over Marcos Rogério de Lima in light heavyweight action. The Russian wasted little time in securing a win in his UFC debut, finishing his Brazilian opponent in just 67 seconds.

Pedro Munhoz earned the fourth “Performance of the Night” award for his second-round submission finish of UFC veteran Justin Scoggins on the Fight Pass portion of the preliminary fight card. He locked on a guillotine choke midway through the second frame that forced Scoggins to tap out.
