SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) -- Emani Gant led Texas State with 14 points on Wednesday night in a 79-58 win over Cedarville.
Texas State (3-6) never trailed, led 39-21 at halftime, and led by as many as 26 points in the second half. The game was Texas State's fourth in six days as a part of the Cure UCD Classic, although it was the first played stateside after three games in Puerto Vallarta.
Ray Dorsey and Wesley Davis each had 12 points for the Bobcats. Texas State had 20 offensive rebounds and edged Cedarville (1-7) on the glass 46-23 overall. Corey Stern led the way for the Bobcats with 12 rebounds.
The Division II Yellow Jackets made 10 of 24 from 3-point range. Marcus Reineke made four 3-pointers and had 17 points. Lane Vander Hulst also had four 3's for 13 points and J.C. Faubion added 10 points.
