Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday a decision on quarterback Matt Schaub's status for Sunday's game against Kansas City will not be made until the end of the week.
Kubiak said Schaub is recovering from injuries to his "leg, ankle, everywhere."
As a result of Schaub's uncertain status, the Texans will prepare two other quarterbacks -- T.J. Yates and Case Keenum - to possibly start against the Chiefs.
Asked whether Schaub would start on Sunday if he's healthy, Kubiak said, "We'll have to see where we're at. I gotta see if he's healthy."
Kubiak said Schaub received injections Monday.
A group of fans in Houston cheered when Schaub suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams. A larger group of fans cheered when Yates entered.
Yates was 12-for-17 in the loss to the Rams and threw two interceptions.
Keenum was inactive for the first six games of the season and has never thrown a pass in a regular-season game.
