The Houston Texans filled a roster spot by picking up defensive tackle Terrell McClain, a former third round pick, the Houston Chronicle reported Monday.
McClain was selected by the Carolina Panthers last year and released him during the summer. He was briefly with the New England Patriots this season.
Houston had placed defensive end David Hunter on injured reserve after he sustained a ligament injury in his left big toe that required surgery.
The team also added offensive tackle Nick Mondek and outside linebacker Keith Browner to the practice squad. Since the Texans have just one spot available on the practice squad, they will have to release a player.
