COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Dennis Ogbe scored 16 points and Jeremiah Samarrippas added 11 as Tennessee Tech held off SIU-Edwardsville 64-63 Saturday night.
The Golden Eagles (10-9, 3-1 Ohio Valley Conference) led by 10 at halftime and opened the second half on a 15-4 run after a trio of 3-pointers from Samarrippas to make it 47-26.
SIU-Edwardsville (4-13, 1-3) wouldn't go down easily, storming back to pull within two after a Keaton Jackson dunk with 1:08 remaining.
After Jordan Johnson split a pair of free throws, Donivine Stewart hit a layup to cut the Cougar deficit to one with 20 seconds left.
Following two missed free throws by Shirmane Thomas, Stewart couldn't hit a layup and Ray Lester missed the putback as time expired.
Tennessee Tech shot 49 percent from the field and had a 36-30 advantage in rebounding.
Kris Davis led the Cougars with 17 points and Jackson added 11.
